Malta FW 2012 - the Launch & the Exhibition

I have a lot to share with you - so much so I'll be dividing this into separate posts. Malta is taking a step forward in fashion - and it is events like these which help Malta gain some credit within the fashion sphere. Yesterday I attended the Launch to Malta's second edition of Fashion Week. It was a hit from the start.

Earlier on, I mentioned my 'Project Sewing' and this was part of it! I spent the two days before sewing this dress, with the help of both my mum and grandma. A month or so ago I blogged about the famed Fausto Puglisi dress - well, anything's famed after Anna dello Russo has worn it - and several times at that! That was the main inspiration behind the dress I wore last night. :) Speaking of ADR - she's collaborating with H&M for a collection. YAY!! Think over the top accessories and embellishments. I'm kind of over the less is more phase now - and more into more is more :P

and this is the arm candy to go with it :)

It took a lot of time and work - but I'm very pleased with it! The quality of the photos is not as pristine as I hoped for - but my camera's gone AWOL on me and my smart phone is all I've got.

This is the invite - well its front. The inside contained my name and the address of the event - MedAsia, Sliema.

When I got there I was handed a yummy Campari - another official Malta Fashion Week sponsor, and soon later I met a few other local bloggers and we had a fun talk! It turned out we had a lot in common. Later, an EVAGARDEN competition took place. All the girls at the event were handed an envelope each. And a selected number of envelopes contained the Eva Garden logo. I was one of the lucky winners - and so I was handed a goodie bag! But I'll blog all the details (including what it contained) in a separate post.

BTW - the chain necklace is something I made myself - a quick DIY - to add some heavy armour to the dress. I wore it this morning to the Fashion Photography exhibition too - with a white shirt. What do you think of it?

As I always say in events like these - follow me on my Facebook page for extra tidbits and photos!

Now for today - at the Fashion Photography exhibition at St George's square in Valletta.

The photos were HUGE! I was impressed by the quality of the photos and the high-standards. And the photos look even better at night - so go take a peek at it. Any time, this week!
