Only a few women ever become immortally imprinted onto our lifestyles and act as permanent inspiration in a what-to-wear crisis. I can wait till Women's day on the 8th of March to post this, but what the heck - we should always celebrate the Feminine (I believe 'Women's day' to be very discriminatory - we don't have man's day don't we? What are we? Some kind of special species that ought to be celebrated? We're human. Fullstop.)

Here are a few women we should always think of when desperately trying to decide between the black a-line dress or the rainbow printed tunic dress. They are immortal inspiration.

Brigitte Bardot

Audrey Hepburn (of course!)

Sophia Loren

Coco Chanel

"Fashions fade, only style remains the same..."

and Jane Birkin (on another level to those I have mentioned here, but nevertheless she is a style icon - and the one and only after whom the Hermes Birkin is named.)
