I have long had a certain fascination with eyebrows. I don't really know why and it really does annoy me when people neglect shaping them properly because they can change one's entire face. Badly shaped eyebrows are as bad as extremely hairy ones. Lately, strong, bold eyebrows have gained popularity in the fashion world. And as much as I admire the 1950s and the nouvelle sense of grooming that decade entailed, I hate the fact that eyebrows were waxed and picked to nil and then drawn.

Eyebrows hold an aura of strength to them - and when they're absent and replaced with a pencil line that aura is gone - poof. Look at all the strong, iconic women from past decades - they all had eyebrows and prominent, arched ones at that. Eyebrows should be thick, dark and almost reach the hair line because they signify a woman that is serious, powerful and not to be messed with.

I found this illustration a while back around the web, and I often take it with me to the Beautician's when it's time for some brow shaping. It's a great mini-compendium! My favourite is Marilyn Monroe's!
